The Francis Augustine Crowe Trophy is back for 2017! This is a home-grown event based on the Ryder Cup format.
Each year, this event has become increasingly popular and keenly contested by the participants. Due to this popularity , teams are restricted to only 12 players per side.
The tournament runs across three consecutive Saturdays. Commencing on 13th May, then on the 20th May and the final round on the 27th May.
All full week members are eligible to play and the first 24 members who sign up and pay their entry fee will be selected.
A sign-up sheet is posted on the Members notice Board in the pro-shop. If you are keen and able to play for the three consecutive weeks in May, get your name on the sheet nice and early!
Further details can be read here FACT RULES AND CONDITIONS 2017 or you can contact the FACT Event Co coordinator, Jim Glenday for further information.
Sal Gasparo, the operator of Gasparo Restaurant, approached the committee and asked that we consider changing the tee time draw nights to Wednesday nights.
On Mondays Gasparo staffing is limited and as such the availability of a larger food selection is significantly reduced. Sal has indicated that by moving the tee time draw night to a Wednesday evening, where his staffing levels are higher, that Gasparo will be able to offer a greater variety of food options for members and their guests.
It has been increasingly evident in recent draw nights that the greater food selection options would be welcome by most attending members and their partners.
The Committee has endorsed the change and as such the next scheduled draw night will be moved from the Monday to and to be held on Wednesday 5th April.
We are again looking for able bodied and willing souls to give us a hand with a working bee. If you can spare some time and can assist us with improving the course and the playing conditions at the course please let David or Matt in the pro shop know of your interest. Alternatively you can advise Paul Horinek on 0417137568 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be doing general maintenance work, which will include whipper snipping, hedge trimming and possible cleanup work following the greens coring.
If you are able to lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated. Additionally if you have a petrol whipper snipper and or blower could you also bring them along. Fuel and cutting lines will be supplied.
Lunch and drink will be provided and the gratitude of ALL of the members for your efforts.
